Insurance & Payment Options

Making Dental Care Easier to Plan and Afford

We never want questions about cost or insurance to keep you from understanding your dental options.

Desert Radiance Dental accepts several major dental insurance plans, participates in broader PPO networks and offers flexible ways to pay for care. Our team can help you review your benefits, estimate your expected costs and understand your options before treatment begins.

Dental insurance can be confusing. You don’t need to arrive knowing the difference between a deductible, annual maximum and PPO fee schedule. Bring us your insurance information, and we’ll help you make sense of it.

Careington Dental Plans

Desert Radiance Dental participates with the following Careington plans:

  • Care Platinum PPO
  • Care Platinum POS
  • Careington C500

Careington also provides network access for a variety of insurance carriers, benefit administrators and employer plans.

Depending on the specific policy, Careington network access may be used by plans associated with companies such as:

  • Aetna
  • Anthem
  • Beam Dental
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Cigna
  • EMI Health
  • GEHA
  • Guardian
  • Humana
  • Kaiser Permanente
  • Lincoln Financial
  • MetLife
  • Mutual of Omaha
  • Renaissance
  • United Concordia
  • UnitedHealthcare
  • UMR
  • Unum

Being listed as a Careington network payor does not mean every policy issued by that company will use the Careington network. The insurance carrier determines which network applies when it processes the claim.

Please call us with your member ID and group number. We’ll verify your specific plan rather than relying only on the insurance company’s name.

Connection Dental Network Plans

Desert Radiance Dental also participates in the Connection Dental Network.

Connection Dental provides network access to numerous insurance carriers, third-party administrators and employer-sponsored benefit plans.

Depending on the policy and employer group, plans that may use the Connection Dental Network include those administered or offered by:

  • Aetna
  • Ameritas
  • Careington
  • Cigna
  • DenteMax
  • GEHA
  • Guardian
  • Humana
  • Kansas City Life
  • Lincoln Financial
  • MetLife
  • Principal
  • Sun Life
  • United Concordia
  • UnitedHealthcare
  • UMR

Additional payors and administrators may also access the network.

Not every employer group associated with these companies uses Connection Dental. Some companies offer many different plans, each with its own provider network.

That’s why our team verifies your individual benefits before treatment whenever possible.

GEHA Dental Plans

Some GEHA plans use the Connection Dental Network, including certain:

  • Federal Employees Health Benefits plans
  • Connection Dental Plus plans
  • FEDVIP plans
  • Plans available to eligible former TRICARE retirees
  • UnitedHealthcare GEHA Medicare arrangements

Plan participation remains dependent on the specific policy and group.

If you’re looking for a GEHA dentist in St. George, contact our office with your insurance information. We’ll check whether your plan provides in-network access to Desert Radiance Dental.

Verify your GEHA benefits

MetLife Dental Plans

Certain MetLife plans may access Desert Radiance Dental through the Connection Dental or Careington networks.

These can include some MetLife PDP Plus and FEDVIP arrangements. However, MetLife offers multiple networks, and not every MetLife policy uses the same one.

Our team can verify your individual plan and explain the information provided by MetLife before treatment begins.

Verify your MetLife benefits

Cigna Dental Plans

Certain Cigna PPO plans may access participating dentists through Connection Dental or a Careington-related network arrangement.

Because Cigna offers multiple dental networks and plan structures, seeing the Cigna name on your card doesn’t tell us everything we need to know.

Contact us with your group and member information so we can check the network associated with your plan.

Verify your Cigna benefits

Aetna Dental Plans

Some Aetna commercial, Medicare Advantage and supplemental dental plans may access the Careington or Connection Dental networks.

Network access varies by plan, employer group and location. Our team will need to verify your specific benefits to determine whether your policy can be used at our office.

Verify your Aetna benefits

UnitedHealthcare and UMR Dental Plans

Certain UnitedHealthcare and UMR plans may access the Connection Dental or Careington networks.

This can include some commercial, Medicare Advantage and employer-sponsored dental benefits. Plan names and networks vary, so individual verification is necessary.

What Does “We Accept Your Insurance” Mean?

This is an important distinction.

Accepting an insurance plan doesn’t mean the insurance company pays the entire cost of treatment. Your share may include:

  • A deductible
  • A copayment
  • Coinsurance
  • Costs above the annual maximum
  • Services excluded by the plan
  • Treatment affected by a waiting period
  • Frequency limitations
  • Costs above the plan’s allowed amount

Think of dental insurance like a coupon book with rules.

The book may contribute toward cleanings, fillings or crowns, but it decides how often the coupon can be used, how much it is worth and when it expires. Those rules are determined by your insurance contract—not by the dental office.

We’ll help you use the benefits available to you, but your dental needs won’t always line up perfectly with what the insurance company chooses to cover.

We’ll Help You Understand Your Benefits

Before treatment, our team can submit or request information to help estimate:

Eligibility

Remaining annual benefits

Deductibles

Coverage percentages

Frequency limitations

Waiting periods

Network participation

Estimated patient responsibility

Insurance estimates are not guarantees of payment. The final decision is made by the insurance company after it reviews the claim.

If the carrier pays differently than expected, the remaining balance is the patient’s responsibility. We’ll still do everything we reasonably can to provide clear information upfront and help resolve claim questions.

What if We’re Not In-Network With My Plan?

You may still be able to receive care at Desert Radiance Dental.

Many PPO dental plans include out-of-network benefits. The difference may be:

  • A different coverage percentage
  • A different deductible
  • A lower annual allowance
  • A different fee schedule
  • A larger out-of-pocket portion

Before assuming you can’t visit us, call our office. We can review the plan information available to us and help you compare your estimated benefits.

The dentist you trust may matter more to you than simply choosing the closest name on an insurance directory.

Alphaeon Patient Financing

Desert Radiance Dental offers patient financing through Alphaeon Credit.

Alphaeon may allow qualified patients to divide eligible dental expenses into manageable monthly payments rather than paying the entire amount at once.

Financing can be helpful when:

  • Treatment is needed before you have saved the full amount
  • Insurance covers only part of the procedure
  • You’ve reached your annual insurance maximum
  • A treatment isn’t covered by your plan
  • You prefer predictable monthly payments
  • You want to complete treatment without dividing it across several benefit years

Approval and financing terms are provided by Alphaeon and depend on creditworthiness and the options available at the time of application.

Our team can explain how to apply and which treatments may qualify.

Ask About Alphaeon Financing

Cash and Credit Cards

We accept:

  • Cash
  • Major credit cards

Our team will review your estimated portion before treatment whenever possible.

If you have questions about payment timing or need to coordinate larger treatment, please speak with us before your appointment. It’s much easier to create a plan together than to surprise one another later.

Membership Plan for Patients Without Insurance

No dental insurance? You’re still welcome here.

Desert Radiance Dental offers an in-office membership plan for patients without traditional dental benefits.

A membership plan can make routine care and treatment costs easier to plan without:

  • Insurance deductibles
  • Annual benefit maximums
  • Waiting periods
  • Claim forms
  • Network restrictions

Plan details, included services and fees may change, so please call our office for current information.

Using Your Dental Benefits Wisely

Most dental insurance plans reset annually. Benefits you don’t use generally don’t roll over into the next year.

To make the most of your plan:

  • Schedule preventive visits before the calendar becomes crowded
  • Complete diagnosed treatment before problems become larger
  • Know when your deductible and annual maximum reset
  • Consider dividing larger treatment across benefit years when clinically appropriate
  • Use remaining flexible spending or health savings funds before applicable deadlines
  • Update us if your employer or insurance changes
  • Bring your current insurance card to each appointment

We’ll never recommend delaying necessary care simply to fit an insurance calendar. But when timing is flexible, thoughtful planning may help you use your benefits more effectively.

Frequently Asked Questions About Dental Insurance and Payment

Do you accept my dental insurance?

We accept Delta Dental, DMBA, EMI Health, Select Health and designated Careington plans. We also participate in the Connection Dental Network, which may provide access through several additional carriers.

Because network access depends on the exact plan and employer group, please call us to verify your individual policy.

Are you a PPO dental office?

We participate with multiple PPO plans and network arrangements. Participation varies by carrier and plan, so we’ll verify the network listed on your policy.

Do you accept Delta Dental?

Yes. Desert Radiance Dental accepts Delta Dental Premier, Delta Dental PPO and applicable Delta Dental Medicare plans.

Do you accept DMBA?

Yes. We accept DMBA dental insurance. Contact us with your member information so we can verify your benefits.

Do you accept EMI Health?

Yes. We accept EMI Health Premier, Advantage, Advantage Plus and TDA PPO plans. Individual verification is recommended.

Do you accept Select Health?

We accept applicable Select Health dental plans. Please call us so we can confirm the network associated with your policy.

Do you accept GEHA?

Certain GEHA plans may access our office through the Connection Dental Network. Because this varies by plan, we’ll need to verify your membership and group information.

Do you accept MetLife, Cigna, Aetna or UnitedHealthcare?

Some plans from these carriers may access our office through the Connection Dental or Careington networks. Not every policy does, so please contact us for individual verification.

Will you file my insurance claim?

Our team can help submit claims and provide the information your carrier needs to process them. Insurance payment remains subject to the terms of your plan.

Can you tell me exactly what insurance will pay?

We can provide an estimate based on information reported by your carrier. That estimate is not a guarantee.

The insurance company makes its final determination after receiving and processing the claim.

What if I don’t have dental insurance?

You can still receive care at Desert Radiance Dental. We accept cash and credit cards, offer Alphaeon patient financing and have an in-office membership plan for patients without insurance.

Can I use an HSA or FSA for dental treatment?

Many dental services qualify for payment using health savings account or flexible spending account funds. Eligibility is determined by the rules of your account, so check with your plan administrator when you’re uncertain.

Does insurance cover cosmetic dentistry?

Most dental insurance plans don’t cover procedures performed solely for cosmetic reasons. A plan may contribute when treatment also restores health or function, but coverage depends on the procedure and policy.

We’ll help you understand the available benefits and financing options.

Does insurance cover dental implants?

Some plans provide partial benefits for implant treatment, while others exclude implants or cover only part of the restoration.

Benefits may also be affected by missing-tooth clauses, waiting periods and annual maximums. We can request an estimate from your carrier before treatment.

Let’s Make the Financial Side Easier to Understand

Dental insurance shouldn’t feel like a second language you were somehow expected to learn.

Bring us your insurance information and tell us what questions you have. We’ll help verify your plan, explain the information we receive and review your estimated responsibility before treatment whenever possible.

If you don’t have insurance—or your plan doesn’t cover everything you need—we’ll help you explore financing, payment and membership options.

The goal is straightforward: help you make informed decisions about your dental health without being surprised by the financial side of care.
